I'm back from my trip to Melbourne, which explains the long lapse in updates, and also have started a new job which means I'm not as free to write this blog as I used to be. Nontheless, I shall try my best to keep these coming.

There's been a whole lot of progress over the past 2 weeks plus, so I'll just let the pictures do the talking
Here goes!

This is how the living hall started out

hi Daryl, i'm from kl and juz wanna get ur advice ...

Why did u choose marble-pieces flooring over tiles ?

How's the pricing per sqf comparison between marble flooring and those quite good quality tiles ?

the marble flooring was already existing when we bought the house, although it was in bad shape. all it needed was a good polish to make it look good.

price per sq/f actually works out to almost the same if u compare marble and goood quality tiles.

Thx for ur feedback and for dropping by my blog.
Here're my experience with marble-piece flooring and tiles flooring ...

Marble
--------
Beginning years look very nice and as shining as mirror.. but along the years getting less shining and eventually totally loss the shining effect after years of floor cleaning.. My family didn't have the budget to get it polished so just leave it like that..

Weak point : if heavier objects like door lock, hit the floor, small holes would exist ...

Tiles
------
i've seen tiles with cracks in corner of a single piece tile after too heavy scrubbing during washroom cleaning(like those at my current staying place); tiles with crack line in middle from top to bottom (don't know if it's because of not enough cement under layer put by the contractor ); and even the big-size, supposedly-better-quality tiles, i think, also prone to crack (like those i saw in the bank) ...

Wood flooring is out of my option as i scare termite to hell. So i would choose either marble or tiles. But as mentioned above, how should i decide if i should choose marble-piece flooring, or relatively-good quality flooring ?

Any advice ? thx.

Instead of natural wood flooring you can go for laminated wood. It's fully termite proof, but not good for getting wet.

Between tiles and marble I would go for tiles. If its well installed they last nearly forever. I think most of the cracking is either due to poor workmanship or cheap quality ones.
